This bowl tea is made from the large leaf 'Da Ye' tea plant varietal, that is better known as Camellia Sinensis 'Assamica'. In making the Puer Tuocha, more mature leaves of the tea plant are selected in summer, sun-dried, steamed, and then shaped into small bowls.

Tuo Cha refers to a family of bowl shaped teas that are made in the Province of Yunnan. The green TuoCha is made at one of the few organic Pu-Erh farms in Southwestern Yunnan, China.
